Trouble instead
After three albums and two EPs, Alpentines are practicing self-reduction. The Cologne-based band still inhabits the realm of art or adult pop at its core – On the dry, The biggest me, The child and Trouble instead are scenic pieces from Alpentines’ latest recording session. Soundscapes, a dark piano figure, and the simulated elimination of all sensory perception in the lyrics: “Trouble instead” performs the downsizing of an emotional world, the shrinking of the spectrum of sensation to AI-level zero – until the final line appears on the monitor: “Feel not found, silence confirmed”.
